If I would please God, know Him and walk out my life in the light, then I must be a hearer of His Word, believe and trust in His word, and be a doer of His word. There are hearers, believers and doers, each of whom misses the greater truth unless they are all three. These three responses to the Word are also progressive: hear, believe, then obey. The Lord calls and enables His children, not to choose their preference and approach to the Word, but to be all He intends us to be: hearers, believers and doers - all at the same time. Enough of fractured and compartmentalized Christian life. No wonder the churches "spiritual nursery's" are filled to overflowing while mature, spiritual and disciplined believers remain a remnant; the two or three gathered in His name. Pleasing God calls for a serious application of all of ones life, to all that He has to offer; hearing, believing and obeying everything He has taught us in His Word.
